Description

A discussion on why the cloud is such a powerful attractor of vendors and end-users. Despite the downside for some media operations and workflows, the cloud will become a part of many facility workflows. Topics include Isaac Newton’s gravity, the Higgs Particle, and the physics of attraction. New survey insights will be presented showing the trajectory of the cloud.

PRESENTER: Al Kovalick

Al Kovalick has worked in the field of hybrid AV+IT systems for the past 20 years. Previously, he was a digital systems designer and technical strategist for Hewlett-Packard. While at HP, he was a principal researcher and architect for a new product-class of signal synthesizer. He was also the principal architect of HP’s first VOD server. Following HP, from 1999 to 2005, Al was the CTO of Pinnacle Systems. After Avid acquired Pinnacle, Al served as an Enterprise Strategist and Corporate Fellow for six years.


The meeting starts at 6:30pm with refreshmants and a social hour.

Program starts at 7:30pm.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING STRUCTURE. The gates close at 7PM and it will be difficult to get your car out at the end of the meeting. Please use the various parking spaces around the buildings.
